Am I a horrible christian? I am interested in Buddhism?

My pastor says that because I'm fifteen, my mind has a tendency to want to explore other things. He says that's fine, as long as I never get deep into another religion. Well, I am very interested in Buddhism. Perhaps not as a religion for me, but it's just so interesting! I'm afraid, though, that if I take to studying it, Satan may lead me toward it and away from the Lord. In other words, I may get so engrossed, I don't want to 'leave'. Am I a horrible christian to pursue studies even if I know what may happen? Am I a fool?
